Terms of Service

Last updated: October 12, 2026

CardNest is a place to organise your trading cards into digital binder pages and, if you want, share them. These terms cover what you can expect from us and what we expect from you. The short version: the binders you build are yours, do not upload anything you do not have the right to, and we are a fan project rather than anything official.

1. Agreement to these terms

CardNest is operated by CardNest LLC. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean CardNest LLC, and these terms are an agreement between you and us.

By creating an account or using any part of CardNest (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the Service.

We may update these terms as the Service changes. When we make a change that materially affects your rights, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where we reasonably can, tell you in the app or by email. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms.

2. Who can use the Service

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may only use the Service with the involvement of a parent or guardian.

You agree to give accurate registration details and to keep them up to date. Accounts are for individuals; please do not share one account between several people.

3. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your password safe and for everything that happens under your account. Please tell us promptly if you think someone else has gained access to it.

You can delete your account at any time from your settings. What happens to your data when you do is described in our Privacy Policy.

4. Your binders and uploads

Everything you create on CardNest stays yours. That includes your binders and pages, the way you have arranged them, your notes, your profile details, and any images you upload such as custom card scans or binder covers ("Your Content").

To actually run the Service we need your permission to store and display Your Content. You therefore grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce and display Your Content, strictly for the purpose of operating and improving the Service. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies already made for backup, which age out on our normal backup cycle.

You confirm that you have the right to upload anything you upload, and that doing so does not infringe anyone else's rights.

5. Binders you make public

Binders are private by default. If you choose to make one public or share its link, it becomes visible to anyone who has that link and may appear in public areas of the Service such as the community section on our home page. Your username, display name, avatar and bio are shown alongside it.

You can make a public binder private again at any time. Bear in mind that while it was public, others may have viewed, screenshotted or shared it, and we cannot retrieve those copies.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • break the law, or infringe anyone's intellectual property, privacy or other rights;
  • upload malware, or anything obscene, hateful, harassing or otherwise harmful;
  • impersonate another person, or misrepresent your association with anyone;
  • scrape, bulk-download or systematically extract data from the Service, or use automated means to access it beyond ordinary use;
  • probe or interfere with the security of the Service, or attempt to access accounts or data that are not yours;
  • place unreasonable load on our infrastructure, or resell access to the Service.

7. Card names, images and intellectual property

CardNest is an independent, fan-made project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or approved by Nintendo, Creatures Inc., GAME FREAK inc., The Pokémon Company, or any other trading card game publisher.

Card names, card images, set names, symbols and related marks are the property of their respective owners. They appear on the Service so you can identify and catalogue cards in your own collection. We claim no ownership of them, and nothing here transfers any rights in them to you or to us.

The Service itself, including its software, design and branding, belongs to us. If you believe material on the Service infringes your rights, contact us at team@cardnest.co and we will look into it.

8. Plans, billing and cancellation

CardNest has a free plan and a paid plan. What each includes is described on our pricing page, and may change over time. Where we reduce what a paid plan includes, we will tell you before it takes effect.

Paid subscriptions are billed in advance through Stripe, our payment processor, and renew automatically for further periods of the same length until cancelled. The sale is made by Link, which acts as the merchant of record: it sells the subscription to you on our behalf, handles any applicable sales tax or VAT, and appears on your statement as LINK.COM*. We never see or store your full card details.

You can cancel at any time from your settings. Cancelling stops future renewals; your paid features continue until the end of the period you have already paid for. Except where the law requires otherwise, fees already paid are not refundable. If we change our prices, the new price applies from your next renewal.

9. Availability and changes

We want the Service to be reliable, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, suspend or discontinue features. If we plan to discontinue the Service as a whole, we will give you reasonable notice and a way to export your binders first.

10. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, or where we are required to by law. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you why and give you a chance to put things right.

You may stop using the Service and delete your account whenever you like. Sections that by their nature should survive, such as those on intellectual property, disclaimers and liability, continue to apply afterwards.

11. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that card data, pricing information or set details shown on the Service are complete or accurate; they are drawn from third-party sources and are provided for reference only. Do not rely on them for valuation, insurance or trading decisions.

Please keep your own copies of anything you would not want to lose. We take care with your data, but no online service can guarantee against loss.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for loss of profits, data or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or fifty United States dollars.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

13. General

If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. Our not enforcing a term is not a waiver of it. You may not transfer your rights under these terms without our consent; we may transfer ours in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.

14. Contact

Questions about these terms can be sent to team@cardnest.co.

These terms are written to be readable and to reflect how CardNest actually works. They are not legal advice, and they have not been reviewed by a lawyer. If the Service starts taking payments at scale or operating in regulated markets, have them reviewed by a qualified professional.
